The Welsh Open has been an ever-present on the snooker calendar since 1992 and signals the eighth ranking event of the 2013/14 season.

For the first time, the prestigious event will feature all main tour professionals and will be held across 12 days as the star-studded field battle for the £60,000 top prize.

Stephen Maguire is the defending champion after he defeated Stuart Bingham 9-8 in a thrilling final 12 months ago, and the Scot will be among an array of top talent in action in the valleys over the next fortnight.

Five-time World Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan makes his return to Newport after a two-year absence, while world number one Neil Robertson, 2008 champion Mark Selby and young sensation Judd Trump are among the big names set to feature.

Legends Steve Davis, Jimmy White and Ken Doherty aim to roll back the years, while emerging stars including Kyren Wilson, Joel Walker and Michael White make their debuts.

All matches up to and including the last 16 are to be played over the best of seven frames, Quarter-Finals are best of nine, semis best of 11 and the final best of 17 frames.

The tournament runs from February 19 to March 2 at the Newport Centre in Wales.
