Defending champion Ali Carter begins his 2011 Shanghai Masters campaign against Mark King on Tuesday morning.

World number 7 Carter will be well fancied to do well in this year's event, however should things all work out, he could meet Ronnie O'Sullivan in the quarter-finals.

His first opponent is the dangerous Mark King, who has slipped down the rankings recently and will be looking to re-capture something like his best form in China this week.
